This Friday evening, August 20, the all-women musical ensemble, Mountain Thyme, will perform folk songs and tunes in a musical style often described as Appalachian Celtic. The band features multilayered harmony vocals, acoustic melodies, and music that evokes a spirit of tradition and place.
The concert will commence at 7 pm. Chairs are provided and concession is available. The Prickett’s Fort State Park Amphitheater is located 2 miles off of I-79 at exit 139.
This season’s final concert will be the Appalachian and world folk music duo Simple Gifts on September 3. The 2010 concert series is provided free of charge. The Pricketts Fort Memorial Foundation appreciates this ongoing support of the performing arts and the promotion of tourism events in our community by the Marion County Commission, the Town of White Hall and the City of Pleasant Valley.
